Smoke Damage Cary covers Charlotte and the surrounding Mecklenburg towns from its Perimeter Woods service office in north Charlotte, and the Triangle around Cary, Raleigh and Durham from its Cary head office. The phone is answered 24/7 for both, and the same process runs in each: secure, dry, document, clean, then rebuild.
Most of the work on this site happens in Charlotte and the towns around it, run from the service office on Perimeter Woods Drive in north Charlotte. The head office in Cary covers the Triangle. The phone number is the same for both, and so is the way a job runs, from the first night to the last coat of paint.

Central Charlotte and the older neighborhoods
Uptown and the neighborhoods around it, from NoDa and Plaza Midwood to Dilworth and Myers Park, hold much of the city's pre-1970 housing, so fire jobs here often mean plaster walls, older trim and finishes that need gentler cleaning. The same area has a dense mix of restaurants, breweries and apartment buildings, where kitchen fires and smoke that crosses between units are common calls. Inside city limits the Charlotte Fire Department is the fire code authority, which matters when a business needs to reopen.
North Mecklenburg and Lake Norman
The Perimeter Woods office sits in north Charlotte, which puts Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson close by, with Mooresville further up I-77 in Iredell County. Much of the housing here was built in the 1990s and 2000s as the northern suburbs grew, so it is mostly drywall and newer finishes that clean well when soot is reached early, along with plenty of townhomes where smoke from one unit reaches the next. The Mecklenburg towns fall under the County Fire Marshal, and Mooresville has its own building office.
South and east Charlotte
South Charlotte, SouthPark and Ballantyne, and the towns of Pineville, Matthews and Mint Hill make up the southern and eastern side of the area. SouthPark was the scene of the large apartment construction fire in May 2023, and the area mixes multifamily buildings with established single-family streets. Pineville, Matthews and Mint Hill are County Fire Marshal territory as well, and rebuild permits there go through Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement like the rest of the county.
West and northeast of the city
Gastonia to the west, across the Catawba River in Gaston County, and Concord to the northeast in Cabarrus County round out the Charlotte side. Mecklenburg holds only about 47% of the region's housing, so a real share of calls come from these counties, and each has its own permit office, which we confirm before any rebuild work starts. Gaston County also took storm damage when Helene came through in 2024, a reminder that board-up and tarping calls are not only about fire.
The Triangle, from Cary
The Cary head office covers Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Raleigh and Durham. Wake County has one of the youngest housing stocks in North Carolina, so fire jobs here usually mean drywall and newer finishes rather than plaster and old trim. The process, the documentation and the phone number are the same as in Charlotte; only the office sending the crew is different.
Outside these areas
Coverage is the Charlotte metro within practical reach of the Perimeter Woods office, and the Triangle around Cary. We do not routinely work in the mountains, on the coast, or in the Triad between the two metros.
